Power League Football Now A Reality For Wheelchair Footballers

The Child Protection e-Acdemy has teamed up with Scotlands Teddy Bear Foundation to provide funding to help start up Power League Football for wheelchair footballers. Barry Chuwen and his wife, Jenny, founded the Teddy Bear Foundation in 2005. The foundation acts as a kind of ‘fairy godfather’ to schools and organisations that work with children with special needs.

Barry explained: “The donation should allow us help establish Scotland’s first-ever league for wheelchair footballers. At the moment, young men keen to play indoor football rely on makeshift plastic sections being taped to the front of their chairs.

“However, specialist adaptations are available from a manufacturer in England, which will allow the lads to take their game to a new level.”
