Questions you've been asking...
Can the training be tailored to my organisation/local authority? We do try and ensure that the courses are generic and in line with national government guidelines. However, we do appreciate that procedures can differ locally, with this in mind we have a facility to upload your policies and procedures to a learner’s record, meaning that everyone has access to the most up-to-date information for free. When a policy changes, you just re-upload the updated document and all learners will automatically receive the new information. No more endless photocopying, saves on paper, time and cost. However, if you do require a local customised version, all our courses can be tailored. All national updates to generic courses are done free of charge.
We haven't used e-learning before, will we be supported? You’ll be supported every step of the way, by a dedicated customer Account Manager. They will work through each stage of launching your programme with you, from planning, training and roll out to ensure your organisation fully utilises your membership. All your learners are supported too, with a dedicated learner support team.
Will e-learning harm my job as a trainer? Absolutely not, we always say e-learning isn’t designed to replace face-face, but to enhance current training provision. In child protection there is no better way to train than face-face, it wins hands down. e-learning frees up your trainers to concentrate on reinforcing methods of learning such as roleplaying and discussions. If you’d like to talk to a trainer who compliments face-face and e-learning training in child protection, let me know.
Cost? 50% off membership for the first 5 founder members. Unit costs can come right down to £1.40 a licence (e.g 1 course per person) across ten different courses.
Impact assessments are really important; can I access management information? You can pull of real time reports at the click of a button giving you a wealth of detailed information. How many learners have passed/not started/studying, did they like it, what aspect did they like, what they didn’t like and why, login analysis, what did learners learn, what will they do differently etc. We can add pre evaluation and post 3,6,9 months assessments to really quantify change.
Can we club together with other organisations? Definitely, we work as a community and we know you do too, working together is something we encourage.
What do customers REALLY think of you? We have a 98% retention in England and Wales which speaks volumes for the customer service we provide. We currently work with 78 organisations and two thirds of CPC equivalents. We don't have ANY negative stories, it’s true, we have a sparkly ‘Lessons Learnt’ report ready to be filled in but so far for the last 6 years, it hasn't been needed.
Where are you based? Our head office is based in Ilkley, West Yorkshire, however our customer Account Managers are based all over, working and supporting organisations like yours. However, we are keen to have the Child Protection e-Academy based in Scotland with a Scottish team supporting your needs locally.
