How does e-learning support Child Protection trainers?

e-learning works best when it's used to support traditional methodsWe always say that e-learning should never take away from face-face, face-face training in child protection is paramount and the most important way of training people. However, with tighter purses and still huge amounts of staff to train in awareness level raising subjects e-learning does a great job of supporting current training provisions. Our e-learning is designed to support trainers and enhance current provisions.

Benefits for trainers working with e-learning:

What our first Scottish customers say about us......

‘’I was looking to identify safe and responsible online training in relation to child protection with additional support needs such as ‘Protecting Children with Disabilities’ and ‘’An introduction to the Autism Spectrum.’ I found the Child Protection e-Academy on the internet and was really impressed with the wealth of online courses they offer. All are accessible via the internet and count towards CPD points. I contacted the Child Protection e-Academy to purchase a number of online courses and found the team really helpful and very efficient.

There's Something About e-Learning

e-Learning; we all know it exists and its many benefits; cost effective, flexible, lack off geographic restrictions although we’re not though always entirely convinced how it can enhance our organisations training provision.

In a perfect world, emotive, sensitive and disturbing topics such as Child Protection would always be taught in a classroom with a trainer (and a cup of tea). Instead we’re all under pressure to train more staff on mandatory issues with ever tighter budgets.

Fife Council 8th August 2011

I was told not to expect much from Cardenden. I found a friendly, quite little town with a great little shop that does fresh sandwiches. The council building had a music lesson on, lots of out of tune trumpets and trombones! The meeting goes well, we chat about what we can offer, they’ve been stung bye-learning companies in the past, an all too familiar scenario, we discuss our support mechanisms. Drive back was absolutely fine, I do it, although Georgie looks nervous, (especially over the Forth Road bridge.)

Pan West of Scotland Meeting and Glasgow City Council 9th August 2011

So many familiar faces and names, really nice. Apparently people have been talking about us, that’s exciting. I talk about what we can offer in Scotland and our reporting facilities that really seams to interest people.

There was a lot of questions and a general buzz about what we’re doing.

The meeting was pretty ram packed so we leave some packs and head off to Glasgow City Council. Let me know if you’d like a pack, I’ll pop you one in the post…

Argyll and Bute & Dundee City Council 26th July 2011

Journeying from Yorkshire to Oban was perhaps too ambitious to do all in one day.

The scenery however made it all worthwhile. Gorgeous sunshine over Loch Lochmand. Windy bendy roads on my first drive since passing my test instigated a few beeps. Lots of holiday travellers with roof racks pilled high with bikes and canoes.

Perth and Kinross - 6th July

I arrive at Perth pretty late and it’s raining. It’s raining so hard it’s on the news as the local supermarket car park is flooded. I scurry off to my hotel room and eat my sandwich.

Morning comes and it’s still raining.

The taxi driver talks to me about the impending music festival in Perth, he tells me he sometimes steals tents from the festival, I can’t tell whether he’s joking or not so I nod approvingly.

Meeting goes really well but I order a return taxi from a different company.

Things are looking really positive.

15th June 2011 Midlothian Council

We’re starting to become very familiar with Edinburgh now and have been recommended some lovely eating establishments by the people we've met. Tiger Lilly is amazingggggg! George Street could become a home from home, as could the Princess Street Apartments – bargain deals can be found on the net. With our face masks at the ready, Abby and I prepare for tomorrows meetings.

14th june 2011 - South and North Lankarkshire Council

Meeting South and North Lanarkshire Council is wonderful. They are so enthused by our courses and our passion to get the product right for Scotland. They love our functionally rich Learning Management System, the tracking, the evaluations, the ease of use. We send piles of info across to them and leave in high spirits thinking how the Child Protection e-Academy could take shape.

Tomorrow we've got a meeting with Midlothain Council.
